Averaging raw scores across different courses tells you almost nothing about true playing ability—a 85 on a easy municipal track is not the same as 85 on a championship layout. I use World Handicap System math when comparing rounds from multiple venues or settling a weekend Nassau fairly.

With 20 rounds, the index averages your 8 lowest differentials. Fewer rounds use fewer differentials plus a WHS adjustment (shown in results when applicable). Example: score 85, rating 71.0, slope 120 → differential = (85 − 71) × (113/120) ≈ 13.2.
