LCM is the smallest positive integer that every input divides evenly—think of the first time two bus routes sync at the same stop.

Listing multiples

Multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, 16… Multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18… The first shared hit is 12.

Prime factorization method

Take each prime that appears in any input at its largest exponent, then multiply. 4 = 2² and 6 = 2 × 3 give LCM = 2² × 3 = 12.
